Double Podium for FTG Racing

The solo Mazda team FTG Racing took home two podium finishes in the SRO America TC class at Sonoma Raceway.

Vancouver, WA. – FTG Racing brought a solid start to the 2024 race season with driver Joey Jordan behind the wheel. The team debuted a brand new 2024 Mazda3 Turbo TC car, built by CorkSport, landing them a third and second-place finish at Sonoma Raceway.

Piloted by a longtime FTG driver, the team is confident in Jordan’s track skills as they enter a new season with him as their full-season driver. Jordan has a long history of racing Mazda-powered vehicles, earning two SCCA majors championships with a Mazda Miata. He has also competed in previous TC seasons driving a CorkSport-built Mazda 3 Turbo and earned four podium finishes in TCB driving a CorkSport-built Mazda 2.

With a new TC car, FTG Racing had limited time to shake down the car before the Sonoma round, so there were several unknowns with the new chassis. Across the weekend, FTG overcame a few minor mechanical surprises, which were not unexpected on a new race car. These included a fuel delivery challenge and suspension setup changes needed for the Sonoma course.
