RX-7 Gr.B Rally car appears
at Goodwood Festival of Speed 2010

The Silverstone Autosport GpB Mazda RX7 made its first ever appearance at the Goodwood Festival of Speed hosted by Lord March in the grounds of Goodwood House.

The annual event is now the biggest non official race motorsport and automotive show globally. The Festival of Speed attracts Drivers, Teams and Cars from all eras and from every discipline, from Dakar, F1, Le Mans, NASCAR, WRC, DTM, BTCC, Moto GP, WSBK, to name but a few.

This year's show attracted household names such as Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button, Nico Rosberg, Ken Block, Neil Hodgson, Mark Webber, Miki Biasion and more. Even Rock Legends Jeff Beck, Billy Gibbons and Roger Taylor were seen driving up the famous Hill Climb.

The Silverstone Autosport Group B Mazda RX7 ex Works car was on the list of VIP invites driven by former factory driver David Paveley.

David last officially drove at Goodwood in 1995. "The event is unbelievable, I can not believe how many top industry people are here, and for the current top drivers to take time out from there schedules is proof of the events status and also the fun appeal of the mixture of road and competion vehicles"

The Group B RX7 was making its first appearance at the show and was a crowd pleaser with its unique sounding rotary engine speeding through the forest stage.

Competitors and visitors to the show alike were surprised to see this rare and spectacular car at the show, especially as David drove the car at speed through the narrow tree lined stage.

Over 100,000 visitors attended the show each day over the 3 days, with over 25,000 people attending the moving Motor Show on the Thursday.
