#07 Mazda LMP2's troubles continue 20 hours into the race
20 Hours

Shortly after 6:00am it began to brighten, and soon the sun showed its face through clouds as dawn arrived. The remaining Mazda LMP2 SKYACTIV-D Racing entry was plagued by one problem after another, and the morning was a trying time, both in terms of driving and repairs.

Tristan Vautier was behind the wheel at dawn. A GT car ahead of him lost control, and this forced Vautier to spin off. Fortunately, only the tires were damaged, and after a quick recovery in the pit, he returned to the track. However, after that, trouble occurred in the turbo, which has been a worry this race week for the #07 machine, as well as some surrounding parts. The turbo's piping was repaired, the intercooler replaced, and the air pipes checked. There was also frequent clogging of the air filter that runs along the roof bringing fresh air to the engine. Each time, the machine was returned to the garage from the pit, and all the mechanics worked together on the repairs. Little by little, their working overalls spoke of the troubles as they turned pure black. However, each time they made the repairs undaunted and sent the machine back out on track, more and more spectators applauded them. Let's never give up the fight until the end.

There are four hours remaining in the race. The #07 Mazda LMP2 was 13th in the prototype class for a time, but currently sits 15th. Tristan Nunez is in the cockpit, with a logo on his helmet that reads "Tireless Defiance" in Japanese.
