#70 SpeedSource RX-8 Takes 5th After Qualifying on Pole
The #70 SpeedSource RX-8 took its third pole of the season in the series' final round. However, in the race the car struggled, finding it difficult to improve on its position, eventually finishing 5th overall.
In contrast, the #69 SpeedSource RX-8, which had been showing better results in the season's later rounds, started 4th on the grid and ending the race seventh.
The #30 Racers Edge RX-8 had a better result. It started from sixth on the grid and took sixth Iin the race.Dempsey Racing got an unlooked-for result: after netting tenth on the grid the car finished the race in eleventh place.
The #70 machine finished the 2009 season fifth in the points, while the #69 car ended up sixth in the rankings.
The 2010 Grand Am GT Series is expected to start with the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona, taking place on the 30-31 January, 2010 in Daytona, Florida.
